JACKSONVILLE, FL--Winthrop senior Jared Baird closed out his collegiate career on Thursday as he came up short in his bid to qualify for the NCAA Championship finals after finishing 39th in the men's javelin competition during the NCAA East Regional Preliminary meet being held on the North Florida campus.
